0.8 percent: FL governor Rick Scott's 2013 tax returns were released, and reveal "a significant drop" in charitable contributions over previous years. "According to tax returns he released this week, Gov. Rick Scott and his wife gave 0.8 percent of their $8.2 million income in 2013 to charity, a significant drop over the previous three years. According to four years of tax returns released by Scott during his re-election campaign, the year 2010 was the Scotts’ highest percentage giving, at 6.8 percent of their $9,305,163 income. Comparable figures aren’t available for Scott’s opponent, former Gov. Charlie Crist because Crist doesn’t itemize deductions on his tax return, so it includes no figures on charitable contributions." -- William March, the Tampa Bay Tribune
