"Judy Faulkner turned her passion for computer coding into Epic Systems, a software firm specializing in electronic health records that has grown to be one of the country’s largest since she founded it in 1979. The firm’s success landed her on Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires in year 2012. On Tuesday the Giving Pledge announced that Faulkner and 9 other individuals or families from the U.S. and farther afield have committed to donate at least half of their fortunes to charity. These 10 new signees bring the total membership in the Giving Pledge to 137, ranging in age from 31 to 99, from 14 countries." -- Kerry A. Dolan, Forbes.com
