Sisters of Charity partnering with local Quebec City company to build 6500 homes; sales profits will fund charitable works of their religious order.

"A project whose motives are rooted in the heart of God. That’s how Sister Monique Gervais describes the plan by Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust to build 6,500 residential units on the massive tract of farmland her religious order owns in Beauport, a large suburb of this picturesque provincial capital. She points to the $150 million in profits that the sale of those units is expected to generate over the 15-year life of the project, profits that are to be put into a philanthropic fund managed by the developer, and used to continue the many charitable works of the Soeurs de la Charité de Québec order." -- Mark Cardwell, the Montreal Gazette
