According to the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy at Boston College, Gen Xers and Millennials stand to inherit more than $40 trillion in wealth over the next twenty to thirty years. If that's true, it's a fair assumption that a good portion of that money will find its way to philanthropic causes.

What do you know about Gen Xers and Millennials and how they give? That's a question most of us can't afford to ignore, so here's a quick interview with Sharna Goldseker from 21/64, a consulting firm that focuses on the "next generation" of philanthropy. Also worth a read: the executive summary of 21/64's #nextgendonors report, a detailed study of "high capacity donors" between the ages of 21 and 40.

Then, if you haven't already, be sure to read Hans Zeiger's recent post in these pages on "Mllennials: The Next Civic Generation."
