MI's Grand Valley State University receives unprecedented $1.5 million gift from Kellogg Foundation to endow chair in philanthropic studies.

"Grand Valley State University is creating a new faculty position to focus on how community groups can improve their philanthropic efforts, thanks to a $1.5 million gift from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The W.K. Kellogg Community Philanthropy Chair will aim to establish best practices for foundations, nonprofits and other groups in West Michigan that are engaged in philanthropy and charitable giving, said Beverly Grant, associate director of GVSU’s Johnson Center for Philanthropy." -- Brian McVicar, Michigan Live
