Running for charity is a common reason for organized races, but Fitbit has set up a contest to allow runners to give through their personal runs.

"Fitbit announced the upcoming launch of its FitforGood campaign that will count user's steps toward donations to charitable organizations.

"Starting Nov. 9 and running until Nov. 20, users can sync their Fitbit account to the service, where they have the option of selecting from among three different charities where their next two weeks of workouts will go toward, including: The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society."--Lauren Keating, Tech Times
