Village Friends Village Values is nonprofit movement dedicated to helping seniors "age in place": This article on chapter in AL explains what they're about.

"When area seniors feel uncomfortable completing certain tasks at home, yet also uncomfortable living in a nursing or assisted living home, they may feel there is no middle ground. A local nonprofit, Village Friends Village Values (VFVV) is stepping in to be a safe haven for seniors over the age of 60 who want to, as VFVV calls it, “age in place.”  With this idea in mind, VFVV, which was established locally about a year ago, provides services, from transportation, grocery shopping and home maintenance to dog walking, yard care, housekeeping and much more. Therefore, seniors are given independence to live alone, but with a network of volunteers on which to rely." -- Katie Thorson, the Auburn Villager
