60 years, $500 million: Louisville, KY's James Graham Brown Foundation reaches a philanthropic milestone.

"It has been Louisville’s most generous benefactor for decades, funding zoos and cancer centers, park projects and schools. Now the foundation named after James Graham Brown, a Louisville lumberman who developed the Brown Hotel, has reached a milestone — giving away more than $500 million to grateful recipients since its creation nearly 60 years ago." -- Sheldon S. Shafer, the Louisville Courier-Journal
