Thanks to a $2m grant from MI dept. of transportation, Muskegon nonprofit bought 15 new buses to shuttle seniors and disabled, including those in rural areas.

"A local nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors and disabled residents in West Michigan will retire about 10 buses and replace them with a new fleet thanks to an award from the Michigan Department of Transportation. Pioneer Resources, its transportation hub headquartered at 1700 S. Sheridan Drive, received capital grants worth $2,067,700 from MDOT, said Greg Scott, the group's executive director. Pioneer Resources recently used the funds to purchase 15 buses from Thomas Built Buses, a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America, LLC, he said." -- Michelle Anderson, MLive.com
