Rees-Jones Foundation gives nearly $19 million to TX Children's Medical Center; will fund 3 clinics tailored to kids in foster care.

"The Rees-Jones Foundation has given $18.9 million to Children’s Medical Center to create a center dedicated to the complex needs of children in foster care. Over the next year, the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children’s plans to open three clinics at Children’s facilities in Dallas, Plano and Southlake that will tailor treatment for children in foster care. The center will also conduct research and provide educational programs to improve the well-being of foster children and their families. The approximately 30,000 Texas children in foster care are much more likely to have complicated health issues, said Dr. Anu Partap, assistant professor of pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center." -- Joe Simnacher, the Dallas Morning News
