Another Silicon Valley vet starts another crowdfunding site, "Givelocity"; this one is based on user's self-selected affinities and neighborhoods.

"Susan Cooney has worked in Silicon Valley tech since 1994, moving between early-stage startups like PayPal and LinkExchange, an early advertising venture Zappos founder Tony Hsieh founded. Cooney’s latest startup, charity crowdfunding company Givelocity, joins a crowded field of sites like CrowdRise and StartSomeGood that let people raise money for good causes. Givelocity aims to increase the frequency and impact of donations from individuals or corporations by injecting social interactivity into the giving process." -- Lauren Hepler, Silicon Valley Business Journal
