Former senator Herb Kohl retired and sold his stake in Milwaukee Bucks for $550m; now he's looking forward to exercising some philanthropy.

"After Herb Kohl ended his career as a U.S. senator at the end of 2012 and as an NBA team owner in May 2014, he's been busy preparing to give away a large but unspecified amount of his wealth. Nearly one year ago, Kohl announced his plans to donate $100 million toward a new arena in downtown Milwaukee. Until now, he hasn't discussed his plans for further donations from the $550 million windfall from the Bucks sale or the millions he accumulated in other business ventures." -- Rich Kirchen, the Milwaukee Business Journal
