"I [can] make the world a better place for everybody": H.L. Hunt's granddaughter Lyda is using her inheritance to improve life in Colorado Springs.

"When Lyda Hill was a little girl, she would dream that she didn't have money. These days, she's trying to turn that dream into reality by giving away her $1.4 billion fortune during her lifetime.'I want the last check to bounce,' Hill, 72, said last week at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, which she financed and developed 20 years ago - and, more recently, provided the funds for a multimillion-dollar makeover that was commemorated Saturday." -- Wayne Heilman, the Colorado Springs Gazette
