Detroit has nearly 20,000 homeless citizens; last week, local nonprofit opened apartment building to help re-house at least 41 of them before winter.
"A nonprofit group on Thursday opened a renovated apartment building to house formerly homeless men and women. The Arthur Antisdel Apartments will have 41 one-bedroom units and offer community services. Cass Community Social Services spent about $9 million on the 1920s-era structure." -- Charles E.
