Instead of using sob stories to attract people to take in foster care children, Together We Stand highlights adoption successes stories and strengths of the child.

"A nonprofit organization is working to alter negative stereotypes of children in foster care. Given the depressing rates of adoption from the foster-care system, the group has a lot of work to do.

"Nearly 400,000 young people are in the foster-care system in the United States, of which over 100,000 are available for adoption, according to the government’s foster-care analysis.
