Board members play such a key role in a charity's life that they need to be trained up, well versed in the organization, and carefully chosen to bring appropriate skills to the organization.

"I normally wheel it out to impress. “Oh yes, the charity I’m a trustee for ...” is often thrown in to a conversation and will usually at the very least keep the small talk flowing.
