Persons with physical disabilities that will never run in their own race can participate in a marathon through the workings of a nonprofit, My Team Triumph.

"My Team Triumph is a nonprofit organization with an athletic ride-along program that was created to help kids, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who normally wouldn’t participate in races. Wendy Burnett has a son with disabilities who took part in the race this morning with My Team Triumph. 'My son, Ryan Burnett, just turned 29 years old and he has been doing this for about five years and this is the best thing that’s ever happened to us. He’s so happy. He loves this,' Burnett 24 Hour News 8. Burnett said it’s something she and her son look forward to each year, and they plan to participate for years to come."--Koco McAboy, Wood TV
